Porsche flaunts its racing heritage by displaying a battle scarred racing car at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. It looks like it just came straight from the race. I think it is beautiful.

Have you removed your front brake dust shields and worried about the heat from the rotors melting your  rubber bits in close proximity? Try slapping on some heat shield tape around them like Subaru did on their 24 hours of Nurburgring STI. They placed 21st overall! Here are the race results in PDF.

Driving Pucker Moment

October 11, 2010 Leave a comment

A “pucker moment” is the involuntary tightening of the sphincter when one escapes a close call to severe personal injury. You will most likely experience this yourself if you are a track driving enthusiast. I present to you JC Meynet’s pucker moment on Willow Springs International Raceway at Subiefest this past weekend.

I may have to start a Ring fund because it is pricey! I am not sure if I would spend a lot. I would be happy just do a couple of laps just to scratch it from my bucket list. Check out Dave Coleman’s guide on the Nurburgring on MotoIQ at the Source link below!

Southern California Track Organizer

I found a new track organizer. Well new to me. Hmm, they say they were doing track events since 1999. First time I heard of ’em. Check out their schedule. Their prices look good, $120 for Streets of Willow with free  lap timing (usually additional $20). If you have run with them in the past, comment below about your experience. Click the link below to visit their website.

Will Brake Override Ruin Your Track Day?

March 15, 2010 Leave a comment

With all of these Toyota Prius cars running out of control, there is more awareness of the brake override feature. New car shoppers that like to left foot brake or heel toe shift should check if the car has brake override. Here is an interesting article from Consumer Reports on testing the thresholds of brake override technology in some newer cars. I agree with one of the comments of omitting it from manual transmission cars. There are too many nanny devices built-in today’s cars that can dull the experience for a performance driver.
