NRG Hood Dampers Review

What’s a hood damper? It’s a pneumatic strut that props open your hood. Most high-end cars have these installed instead of the cheapo metal rod that you slide into a hole under the hood. I purchased a pair of NRG stainless steel hood dampers for my Subaru STi. It included all of the necessary hardware for install. The installation was quick and simple with basic hand tools. These have been installed in my car since February 2006 and they still function well.

Performance Friction Z-Rated Brake Pads Review

I recently had to replace my front and rear street brake pads on my 2005 Subaru STi. I could not afford race pads and separate street pads so I looked for one set that could do both. They should run decently on the track while giving me cold and non-squealing stops. While shopping online I discovered the Performance Friction Z-Rated brake pads. These brake pads are targeted for performance vehicles such as BMW and Corvette.

Racecomp Engineering Tarmac 2 Coilovers Review

I was in the market for a coilover system for my 2005 Subaru STi. I did not want a JDM brand due to the stiffness overkill for the crappy roads in Los Angeles. I heard great reviews of the KW variant 3 coilovers from many STI owners so I figured I could not go wrong with getting those. But as I was about to drop my hard earned cash on them, Racecomp Engineering (RCE) announced their coilover made by KW to their specifications.

EBC Yellowstuff Brake Pads Review

Here’s a quick review¬†of the EBC Yellowstuff Brake Pads I purchased. My brake setup is ATE Gold brake fluid, Goodridge stainless brake lines, EBC Redstuff pads and stock rotors in the rear, EBC Yellowstuff and DBA 4000 slotted rotors in front.
