Cobra Crashes at Willow Springs

Wow, this driver is so lucky! I’m glad he made it out of there alive with just some minor injuries.

On the front straight doing 130mph, something breaks. The cobra veers hard right and off track. The car leaves a 6O foot gash in the asphalt as it veered before leaving the track and continued for an additional 500 feet off track to its resting point. I received only minor injuries to my left knee and bruised ribs.

Corvette Crashes at Autocross

This happened at the Speedventures autocross on November 19, 2011 at Auto Club Speedway inside the arena. I drove that course before and I never liked how it was close to that curb. SCCA sanctioned autocrosses use the more open parking areas outside of the arena.

Battle Scarred Porsche Racing Car

Porsche flaunts its racing heritage by displaying a battle scarred racing car at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. It looks like it just came straight from the race. I think it is beautiful.

This is not a Prius. It did a lap in 7 mins 47.794 secs. It has 590 ft/lbs torque and top speed of 161.55651 MPH. That’s quick!

Heat Tape is Convenient

Mario Andretti Racing Experience Accident

Condolences to her family and friends.

A Los Angeles woman was killed Friday [OCT 15] while participating in a simulated Indy race at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana.

Ashley Sara Phalen, 24, was participating in the Mario Andretti Racing Experience Driving 101 class that taught members of the public the basics of open wheel racing by allowing them to drive replica Indy racecars, according to the San Bernardino County coroner’s office.

Driving Pucker Moment
